January 2010

We had a successful year in 2009 thanks to the many visitors and volunteers at the museum. As always, Santa and Breakfast with Santa were highlights of our Christmas holidays. Thank you to everyone that volunteered at or visited the museum during 2008. We look forward to seeing you again soon.

2010 promises to be full of opportunity for the museum to evolve and expand.

• We're planning on getting underway with the Depot restoration during 2nd quarter.
• Construction on park train track will commence during first quarter
• Beth Kovach has joined our staff as educational coordinator and will be expanding tour and educational programming
• Karen Majewski has joined our staff as family events coordinator and will be expanding our birthday/family party activities

Contributions sought for Web Site

Historical photos of much of our equipment are not available in the library. A request has been made to membership asking for copies of photos made while any of our rolling stock was in operating, during donation or its first movement to the museum. If you have photos in your collection of any of our pieces, a donated copy would be greatly appreciated.

Also, we are seeking articles on railroading in the south, Atlanta railroads, or other related items for our Features section. Further information or inquiries can be addressed to the webmaster.
