  • May 16 Armed Forces Day
    • Members of our nations armed services, both active & retired, are invited to visit the museum free of charge.

  • - The museum celebrates the collection of locomotives... Old and new and in particular the return to exhibit of Chattahoochee Valley #21.

  • September 26 - The Early Ford V8 Club will have a cruise in and meeting from 10am - noon.

  • October 31 New Date... September 26 Boy Scout Merit badge day - Hosted in conjunction with the Piedmont Division NMRA. Reservations for this session have closed. Please check back for 2010 dates, we normally host one in the spring and again in the fall.

    The museum was a stop on the “DISNEY’S A CHRISTMAS CAROL” TRAIN TOUR For more information, visit www.christmascaroltraintour.com
    • This family event was fun for guests of all ages – and admission to ‘Disney’s A Christmas Carol’ Train Tour is totally FREE.
      • Frequently Asked Questions
      • The train tour was be open 9am - 7pm.
      • Attendance for the Tour is first come, first served. There will not be advance / timed tickets for admission.
      • Plan to spend 30-45 minutes visiting the exhibit and the sneak peek of the film (this does not include time standing in line)
      • Parking is available on the museum site
      • The train is handicap / wheelchair accessible
      • In order to allow our volunteer staff to focus on your visit to this special train, most of the museum exhibits will not be open during this event.


  • November 5-8 The museum will be a stop on the Piedmont Pilgrimage, the Piedmont Division of the NMRA's 7th Annual public tour of Atlanta's Great Model Railroads. For more information on the tour visit www.piedmont-div.org/pilgrimage

  • Nov 7 & 8 - Model Railroad Days
    • Featured model railroads of various scales from clubs across metro Atlanta

  • November 21 - Santa arrived.
  • We had a great time as we welcomed Santa to the museum for another Christmas season.
    • There was a lot of fun at the Activity / Craft table to help decorate the museum for Christmas

  • November 27 - Dec 19 - Santa will visited the museum, rode the train and posed for photos during open hours

  • December 5, 12, 19 - Breakfast with Santa.
  • Several hundred visitors joined us for a casual snack breakfast with Santa.  Our relaxed setting for this snack breakfast allowed Mom and family time to relax while their children enjoyed a few special minutes with Santa. Many families joined Santa on a train ride and special time visiting the museum.
    • Many families captured this special time with their own video or pictures without the high cost many others charge for pictures with Santa.
    • The breakfast price was just $3.00 more than the regular museum admissions.

    N.R.H.S. Meetings:

    Two Atlanta Chapter National Railway Historical Society (N.R.H.S.) meetings are scheduled each month. These are not just for chapter members - the general public is welcome.
    • The Board of Directors meeting is held on the second Thursday of each month. These meetings start at 7:30 in the museum's audio/visual room in building #1. (Click here for directions to the museum)
    • The chapter meeting is held on the fourth Saturday of each month at the museum. Meetings include a brief program and social time
