- Nov 5 - 23 - Norfolk Southern Exhibit Car to Visit
The Norfolk Southern Exhibit Car, a traveling showcase highlighting the Thoroughbred of Transportation, will visit the museum during regular hours as part of it's
tour of 23 cities in 2008. This will include being open during Model RR days, Nov 8-9, Piedmont Pilgrimage, Nov 6-9, and when Santa arrives on Nov 15.
The Exhibit Car, which has hosted some 1.5 million people in several hundred communities since 1971, houses interactive displays featuring Norfolk Southern’s transportation network. New for the 2008 tour is an updated locomotive simulator that puts guests in the engineer’s seat in control of a virtual train.

Past Events 2008
November 6-9 The museum was a stop on the Piedmont Pilgrimage, the Piedmont Division of the NMRA's 6th Annual public tour of Atlanta's Great Model Railroads.

- The museum hosted visiting trucks, tractors and other vehicles to explore and learn about.

- Mr. Ric Woroniecki with Cars as Cast of Dunwoody, GA with a 1974 Ford F350 wrecker demonstrating towing a retired USPS righthand drive jeep
- Mr. Andrew Robinson of Suwannee, GA demonstrating an antique hit and miss engine.
- Mr. Robinson demonstrating a larger hit and miss engine and a Cub Cadet tractor.
- Ryder System, Inc exhibiting a Volvo road tractor
- Lou Sobh GMC exhibiting a GMC 4500 series custom pickup

June 7 and 8 - Locomotive Celebration ! - The museum celebrated the collection of locomotives... Old and new
and dedicated the newest acquisition, Stone Mountain RR #104.
Over 400 folks braved the record heat to particpate in the two day event and we appreciate everyone that attended being a part of the activity. In addition to
the dedication and celebration we had a number of other activities going on during the day.

- May 17 - Armed Forces Day - Members of our nations armed services, both active & retired, are invited to visit the museum free of charge.
- April 28 and 29 Stone Mountain #104 moves to SRM. A dedicated crew of museum volunteers lead by Dale Grice and Andrew Durden
spent Monday and Tuesday relocating the museum's most recent donation to the museum.
- April 26 Boy Scout Merit badge day hosted in conjunction with the Piedmont Division NMRA
