RAILROAD CALENDAR

The 2009 calendar is being produced using the photo collections of Frank and Jason Greene. The theme is "Steam after Retirement." This year we find steam running in excursion and tourist operations throughout the South. Examples are from Georgia, Alabama, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. Steam locomotives representative of Southern, Texas & Pacific, Canadian Pacific, Chesapeake & Ohio and more.

Frank Greene is a former Atlanta Chapter member who now resides in Memphis, TN. The pictures were taken on trips with other chapter members and on chapter trips in the 1970s. He was a member of the "Green Army" which was a group of Atlanta chapter members who aided in the maintenance and operation of the Steam Locomotives that appeared in Atlanta on the Southern Railway.

Jason Greene is the current Calendar Editor and grew up around steam thanks to the Atlanta Chapter and his father. The steam addiction was set at the age of six months when his father took him on his first trip behind the N&W 611 on a Spring trip to Toccoa. The father & son duo can be found track side whenever they get a chance to pursue their favorite pastime.

The Atlanta Chapter's railroad calendar for 2009 will make an ideal gift for your railroad minded friends, family, children, and grandchildren.

First orders will be mailed around October 1, 2008. Orders after October 1st will require 2-4 weeks for delivery.
