Southeastern Railway Museum announces
Rail Fair details

For Immediate Release (Duluth, Ga.).
On Saturday, September 30 and Sunday, October 1, the Museum will be
hosting its Fourth Annual Rail Fair. The hours will be 10:00 AM to 5:00
PM Saturday and Noon to 5:00 PM on Sunday.
We have lined up some interesting programs for this year’s
festivities. The tentative program is as follows:
Saturday 1:00PM: George Eichelberger (Southern Railway Historical
Association) – Program to be announced
Saturday 2:30 PM: A presenter from the Norfolk Southern speaker’s
bureau. Program to be announced.
Saturday 4: 00 PM: Robert Hanson will speak on the “West Point
Route” the subject of his new book. A book signing will follow the
presentation.
Sunday 1:00 PM: Doug Alexander will speak on “Georgia’s passenger
trains”
Sunday 2:30 PM: An Operation Lifesaver presentation by the Chapter’s
own Cathy Temple
Several vendors have committed to appearing this year. These include
Central of Georgia Historical Society, Trainmaster Models, Crowe
Railroad Art, Usbourne’s Children’s books, The Nth Degree N Scale
and others.
Other exhibits will include at least one O Scale layout, track
speeders, and a children’s activity area.

The Southeastern Railway Museum has been in operation since 1970 and
is "Georgia's Official Transportation History Museum". The
museum has over 80 other pieces of retired railway rolling stock
including vintage steam and diesel locomotives, passenger coaches,
private business cars, a World War II army troop kitchen, wooden freight
cars, railway post office car and maintenance of way equipment. Many
other items from Georgia's transportation history are also presented on
the museum's 30-acre site.
Trains rides aboard restored cabooses are complementary with admission.
