The Southeastern Railway Museum sets new
attendance records
For Immediate Release
December 27, 1999
The Southeastern Railway Museum set new attendance
records when its new site opened in mid-October. Saturday visitor counts
from October 16 through the end of the normal season, November 27,
ranged from 316 to 471 (averaging 391) – a total of 3,090 guests over
seven weekends, including two Sunday afternoons.
These daily totals are well above averages for normal operating
Saturdays at the museum’s previous location for 1998 and prior years,
and SRM also set a record number of consecutive weeks (five) when
Saturday attendance exceeded 350.
For the first time, the museum is open and offering train rides over
the winter months. SRM is open each Saturday through April 1 from 10
a.m. to 4 p.m. except during unusually harsh weather. Admission is $5
for adults, $3 for children age 2-12 and seniors age 65 and up; children
under age 2 are admitted free. Information: (770) 476-2013 |
